• Shâhnâme’s Album is a compendium of lithographic illustrations to Ferdousi's Shahnameh. The illustrations are gathered by Ulrich Marzolph and M.H. Mohammadi has prepared the texts for each story. The present album is a step towards acknowledging the existence and beauty of the indigenous Iranian and Indian production of the Shahnameh. It presents the illustrations included in the Shahnameh's Iranian editions, and discusses the models they drive from. In this respect, the present album supplements the broad scholary activity treating the illustration of the Shahnameh in illuminated manuscripts.
